Mare Care and Foaling

Mare Care  and Boarding                                                            $495.00

Mares are suggested to arrive at the barn two months prior to foaling.  Please contact our trainer at 916-532-6622 if you have questions about this time frame.  All mares are housed in the barn and receive daily turn-out exercise, weekly grooming and weekly bathing in preparation for their foals.  Stalls are monitored 24/7 and mares are checked twice daily for paturation changes.  Mares are fed three times daily and are given grain that you provide plus rice bran for their digestive tracts.  Stalls are foal safe, have emergency lighting, rubber matted with shavings, bedding is changed to straw approx. three days prior to foaling.

Foaling assistance is $60.00 per hour if needed.  One hour minimum. We are experienced with malpositions and have a highly trained veterinary reproductive team as our barn doctors.  Additional help with nursing, medications and injections is also available.  Mares are ready to go home with foals at 2 weeks or can remain for insemination here and go home the following month after foaling.  The choice is yours.

Daily Fees for breeding or short stays. $30.00 a day wet, $25.00 dry.

Boarding in Covered Paddocks with turnout daily.
